If Jay never liked the chopper phase why did he ask them to build him a bike? It seems it was to capitalize on their success for his show. Seems sort of disingenuous. Everyone that “knows” a bike with that kind of geometry isn’t gonna stop well, compared to a modern bike. It’s obvious. That’s not OCCs fault. Btw, Jay Leno has a collection of old bikes that don’t like to start, don’t stop well, need constant repair, are difficult to find parts for……and some are worth millions.

I like Jay. I like Sr. They created brands and had much success from hard work and passion. I think man to man would have been a better place to express such concern. Not in front of the media. My two cents.

Btw I always thought “choppers” were goofy, but not much different than chopped hot rods made outa junk old parts. Both are dangerous and don’t operate well. I don’t see Leno bashing hot rod guys.

The reason why OCC went broke is because they thought that companies would keep on comming and order a 60k bike, even when the show on tv was over,
but the companies were only interested because they got an entire episode of exposure of their brand name. 60k for an entire hour of publicity!
That was what they were going for and not for those stuppid useless bikes!

Guy lets you visit his garage, then you slam him. Bad look. Jay is right OCC didn’t make motorcycles to ride. They were theme bikes. Also the bike they built for Jay only had a small diameter single disc brake up front. Jay said the brakes didn’t work well. I believe Jay.

Choppers date to the 30s. I've heard firsthand from old guys who rode modified motorcycles in the 30s. Originally they were improving their bikes. I can explain what they did and why if anyone is interested. BTW OCC builds are crap.

lol, and in the 'related videos' I see "Orange County Choppers Fires Back at Jay Leno." And part of me is curious, but part of me doesn't really care… OCC had its day and they were big back then, but today, there are a million choppers with much higher build quality from no-name shops and combine that with the chopper craze at an all-time low? Maybe would have mattered 20 years ago, but today? Not really.
