Thanks a lot for this touching film about Seher and the turtle beach of Manavgat. Visiting Dalyan since 1982 and choosing this green, unspoiled paradise as "our holiday place" in 1986 with my partner, I was a witness of the long but successful fight of "Kaptan June" against the hotel on Iztuzu beach. I must admit I was shocked when I learned by "Tread the Globe" how still in Turkey the endangered turtles and the nests can be killed or destroyed by some thoughtless people racing on the beach of Manavgat! And it is amazing to see how much support and help Seher gets after some great lovers of Turkey and its nature decided to support her. My deepest respect to you, Mick Amca, Trudy, Chris and Marianne, and the Mamuchos, who also canceled their plans to help Seher.

Santralin insaatina karsi kampanya baslatildi, kampanyaya katilmak icin kanalimin hakkinda bolumundeki "KaplumbağaKömürSevmez" basligina tiklayabilirsiniz.

This is partly a great story of Seher's selfless work of love and also the sadness behind our utter blindness as humans towards nature as a whole.
I sometimes feel hope, I often feel despair for our disdain to our planet, but Seher gives me the belief we can at least do something to help these creatures just do what all life wants to do, just survive without interference or unnecessary dangers from our indifference and demands for a nice beach just so we can get a nice tan.
I've seen the loggerheads just in the lagoon behind istuzu beach at the end of the Dalyan river delta and i remember each encounter with joy plus Ive been to the sanctuary at the 'dolmus' end of istuzu ….I recall tiptoeing between the roped off areas on the main beach, just in case there happened to be unmarked nest!!
Thanks for drawing even more attention to this Mick & Trudie, I have given what I can to help.
    Cok tesekur ederim x

As a Turkish person i feel ashamed of the level of ignorance in this country, the vanishing green areas, polluted seas, killing the endangered animals, damaged historical artifacts that other countries barely have…etc. We don't really care what we have and that really hurts me.

My mother was born in Istanbul and together here on the Sunshine Coast in Australia we have watched many of your videos Mick and Trudy and have enjoyed them all to date during this time of global lockdown. But by far, this video is the most wonderful and most important one you've done. GREAT WORK! The publicity you have now brought to Seher and her caring work will make a huge difference to her life and the lives of her 'children'. On behalf of all inhabitants (not just humans) we thank you. You should be proud 🙂
