According to the latest USDA crop progress data, corn plantings are 85 percent complete, ahead of both the five-year average and 2014 progress. Corn emergence stands at 56 percent, up from 29 percent the week prior and also ahead of the five-year average. Nearby corn futures were trading lower at the CME on Tuesday. Soybean plantings are at 45 completion, with soybeans emerged in the 18 primary producing states.
