It has a feeling of eating too much, and especially it gives a feeling of people that have no style, no manners and cannot control themselves in front of food.     Why do I feel like getting set back to 1930 when watching this? Uh yeah because nobody even when working in the fashion industry dresses like this anymore (I work in shilouette design and patternmaking – my biggest influences are Yohji Yamamoto, Rei Kawakubo, Jun Takahashi, Rick Owens and Margiela)

    When you have a full shot of the outfit worn in the video you understand how bad it is…. goes out to show that he might know his stuff about classic menswear and he will still might make the ocasional mistakes. In this case the mistake is the end result. Theory, knowledge is not always enough. Intuition should have your back often times.

    After watching the video I understood how the term 'scorpacciata' is related to menswear; it clearly makes sense, but still sounds to me quite unrelated to the original meaning of the term (which is, as other gentlemen pointed out here, a huge meal).

    Actually, I'm Italian, and while the concept you described is pretty interesting, I've never ever used or heard anyone using the term "scorpacciata" to refer to menswear. It's simply not something we use in Italian.
    It's not even tied to seasonal feasts – it merely means "bellyful", "very abundant portion of food". For example I could say I had a "scorpacciata" of pasta if I had friends at home and we cooked a lot of pasta and ate it all with gusto.
    It can be used figuratively, but it's used to indicate an excess of something – and it's not that common in this usage. For example I could say I had a "scorpacciata" of TV series if I binge watched a couple of seasons of my favorite show in a single afternoon.
    But for menswear, not really something we actually say…

    I don't like the high gorge-line of modern suits and blazers today. In my opinion, they should be LOW, at least it should be an option to chose.
    The first highest chest-button should be at the bellybutton area and the gorge-line low, like Richard Geres suit in the movie "Pretty woman". It shows power.
    I am making my own blazers today because there isn't any good to find at the whole market because of this "modern" patterns.
