  1. Mike Tickner says:

Unless you are Daniel Craig at the Oscar's, a smoking jacket is never, ever worn for a formal event. Keep it for an informal dinner with friends, perhaps at a country house party. Cummerbunds are only worn with a single breasted coat.

  2. Mike Chedzoy says:

I don't succumb to the pointless fluff of style and fashion. I'm practically minded and there is one thing I hold high, above all else, and that is craftmanship. That's why I love this channel. I'm made aware of what is stylish (while having not a singular sense of it myself) and the craftsmanship that goes into producing the final product. Fantastic.

Blackwatch tartan cashmere and cotton velvet shawl lapel tuxedo with silk textured bow tie and cummerbund, pleated sea island cotton white dress shirt with pointed collar. finished with an onyx and gold cuff link/stud set and patent leather derbys. Maybe a gold and black leather dress watch. Black cashmere top coat double breasted with black or off white silk or cashmere scarf.
Or double breasted mohair cashmere and vicuña peak lapel tuxedo in black, light grey or navy. Bibbed tuxedo shirt rather than pleated.
Or a double breasted corduroy cashmere jacket in dark red, dark green, black, or navy with either lapels. No flaps on any jackets. All one button unless double breasted. Pleated pants with the double breasted jackets. Flat front with the tartan. No stripe with dinner jacket pants. But no back pockets on anything. Always a textured bow tie of some sort. Subtle texture.

  4. Ransom Coates says:

After formal dinner parries the women left the table and went to another room to drink cordials in small glasses . The men remained at the table and drank port, passed counterclockwise, until the host rose snd said, ‘Gentlemen, shall we rejoin the ladies?’
