Hydrocyclone System with Plastic Disk Filter
Hydrocyclone (sand filter) is our filter to separate the substances which are heavier than water.
They cannot filter particles that are floating and lighter than water. Thence, it not recommended using this alone with the irrigation systems. A filter must be placed at the outlet of hydrocyclone as blockage is observed only where the hydro-cyclone is used.
Operation Principle
Basically, the substance entering the hydro-cyclone is affected by drag and centrifugal force. The centrifugal force whips the substances whose density is more than water towards the internal surface of the cone where the speed rate is less. Thanks to the drag force, the particles move towards the lower chamber having lower pressure. The water purified from particles heavier than water moves up from the middle section of the hydrocyclone together with the particles lighter than water and leaves the hydrocyclone.
For the particles which cannot be refined from water, the filter on the hydrocyclone outlet steps in and cleans the particles in question. In this way, the irrigation systems operate without problem.
Note: The flow of hydrocyclone and differential pressure is one of the major factors affecting the quality of filtration.
